• Three-day course focuses on bioburden, endotoxin and sterility testing quality control methods
• Attendees will explore practical applications and learn techniques to ensure high product quality and regulatory compliance
• Courses launch in July 2012 and are offered throughout the US and Canada on an ongoing basis

June 5, 2012, Billerica and East Falmouth, MA — EMD Millipore, the Life Science division ofMerck KGaA of Germany, today announced a partnership with Associates of Cape Cod, Inc.(ACC) to offer a series of educational programs for quality control and laboratory professionals entitled “BEST: QC Microbiology Training.”

Initial dates and locations are:

July 17 – 19, Toronto Canada
September 25 – 27, Philadelphia, PA
October 16 – 18, Research Triangle Park, NC
November 6 – 8, San Diego, CA

The courses will focus on three critical in-process and product release quality control tests: Bioburden, Endotoxin and Sterility Testing (BEST) and will be offered throughout the US and Canada. Consisting of classroom presentations and laboratory application demonstrations, the BEST program will provide an overview of relevant methods and techniques in each area as used by pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device organizations. Upon completion of the program, laboratory professionals will better understand the methods, techniques and practical applications which help ensure product quality and regulatory compliance. Basic laboratory skills are assumed as a prerequisite for participation in BEST courses.
